Club Freebird 16th Anniversary Party | September 16–17, 7:30 pm
Club Freebird has lined up a host of local indie bands with influences ranging from rockabilly to late-Beatles to 80’s punk. Shows start at 7:30 pm. DJ sets start at 1 am.
Located at 364-22 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, opposite Sangsang Madang in Hongdae. 15,000 won cover includes a free drink.

The brainchild of Lilian Lee and jointly sponsored by Alien’s Day Out (aka recently featured Mipa Lee). Come out to Suji’s in Itaewon to buy delicious vegan treats and support the relief efforts in the horn of Africa, where the region’s worst famine in recent history is underway. RSVP on Facebook.

GAP: Born to Rock concert | Saturday, September 17, 3 pm
Headlining this concert are well-established indie bands like Crying Nut and Jang Kiha and the Faces, but also head over to see the “Next Indie Star” competition, whose winner gets both 3 million won, a media team, and an opening debut at the next GAP-sponsored concert. Enjoy a picnic and festival-like atmosphere with food vendors making an appearance as well.

Ode: Fashion Show | Saturday, September 17, 4 pm & 7 pm
Graduating students from Sangmyung’s Fashion Design Program display their works through a runway show this Saturday. Seoul Fashion Center, 3F Event Hall.

23rd Kimchibilly Night featuring The Rock Tigers | Saturday, September 17, 10 pm
Kimchi meet rockabilly at DGBD club in Hongdae. The main event, the Rock Tigers, have just returned from a Japan tour, and are not to be missed for their fresh and fearless music and jaunty leopard print-infused style. Visit the Facebook event page for more.
